The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people. The Reading Council 1031 was founded in 1905 and serves St. Agnes and St. Athanasius Parishes.
Among our service projects are: Food for Families: Drive for the Reading Food Pantry; Altar Servers Appreciation Events; Building the Domestic Church Info Kiosks; Pregnancy Center Support; Soccer Kick and Free Throw Challenges for Youth; and Helping Hands which serves at My Brother Table in Lynn. We also provide financial support to many worthwhile community groups and events.
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. For more information contact: Contact: Bert Almeida, Grand Knight, [email protected]

Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus is a welcoming organization open to all Catholic Gentlemen who wish to join our order. Our Council 1031, located here in Reading, supports Christ the King Parish and our Lords ministry in the undertaking of many acts of charity. These acts include financial support for the Reading Food Pantry, distribution of food for the summer food for children program (in partnership with Christ the King and Saint Vincent DePaul), an annual “Coats for Kids Drive”, financial support for children with intellectual disabilities, and many more local, national, and worldwide charities. Our membership, when not performing charitable acts, are welcome to relax in our lounge or function hall located on Sanborn Street.
